UNCLE TOM'S CABIN

Harriet Beecher Stowe in 1852, wrote, Uncle Tom's Cabin Stowe spent all of her time up north and it is believed that she may not have ever seen a slave.  Although UTC is on most high school reading lists, a much more accurate account of slavery is My Life and Times, by Frederick Douglass .  Much of Uncle Tom's Cabin lies....President Lincoln attributed the book to being a catalyst in starting the Civil War.
